Careers Resources
Our careers library houses a good stock of current university prospectuses and employer information as well as books and magazines on a wide selection of careers and higher education courses. A comprehensive range of leaflets providing information about different careers detailing the type of work involved, skills required, entry requirements and related occupations are catalogued using the CRCI system (Connexions Resource Centre Index) and may be photocopied for individual use.
We also subscribe to a number of online resources where students can access impartial information to help them make informed and realistic career plans. Passwords to access the following resources can be obtained from Mr B Walker, IT or Mrs F Wilson. Resources include:
Eclips which contains impartial information on practically every career.
Kudos an interactive career matching programme which suggests career ideas based on individual interests.
Careerscape which provides information on many careers, education and training options, employment issues, subjects, higher education courses and lifestyle topics and includes real life case studies and videos.
Higher Ideas which links A level subjects and career interests to university course.
Students are introduced to these packages during IT lessons and careers tutorials and user guides are available in the careers section of learning resources on the school network and from the careers library.
