Ripon Grammar School has been serving the community of Ripon for well over 450 years and has a rich heritage and tradition which inform much of our daily work today, but it also prides itself on being forward looking. The essence of Ripon Grammar can only be conveyed by visiting us to experience what makes this such a special community in which to learn. The needs of each individual in the school are paramount. The school aims to ensure every student fulfils their potential in a caring and supportive community where each individual is valued.
I am sure that you will find the website informative and that it will give you an idea about what makes Ripon Grammar School such a special place in which to learn. Many visitors comment on the atmosphere which pervades the school-friendly, purposeful and lively. The emphasis is on the individual, and ensuring that their needs are met. The students here are talented in many areas, and the wide-ranging programme of extra curricular activity ensures something for everyone.
Students have got to enjoy their time at school in order to fulfill their potential. When I speak to students they are very happy, and are glad they have chosen Ripon Grammar School. The school is a selective co-educational grammar school with boarding which makes it one of a small select group of schools in the country. I value the diversity of backgrounds that this can bring and it makes it such a vibrant community to be part of. The school is over-subscribed due to the high quality of education on offer, and by secondary school standards we are not a large school, but this is one of its undoubted strengths. Everyone is valued as an important member of the community.
I am sure the website will give you much of the information you require, but if you need to contact us feel free to do so. The school's history can be traced back as far as the seventh century, and in 2005 the school celebrated its 450th anniversary since its' refounding in 1555. There is no doubt that the school has prospered especially in recent years, and I am sure it will continue to do so in the future.
