Ripon Brass Band Competition 2010
The Ripon Grammar School Brass Band, Wakeman Youth Brass put up a spirited performance at the 2010 Ripon Brass Band Competition.
Despite missing missing a number of players due to half term holidays the band put up an excellent display and achieved more marks than two adult bands for the quality of their performance. Highlights were Sarah Owens performance of Faure's Pie Jesu and Kieran Newman's comedy rendition of Nellie the Elephant. The band's final marks were dragged down by some rather controversial marking from the 'entertainment' judge but the band were happy with their display and will be back to fight another day.
