Race for Life 2010

On the 23rd June 2010 many Ripon Grammar female students made their way down to the Yorkshire show Grounds on a sunny summer evening.

Many girls from Harrogate of all different ages were running, walking or jogging for various different family members or friends who have suffered from cancer.

The girls from Ripon Grammar were running particularly for Mrs Mackenzie, who has helped our schools sports department greatly and is much loved by staff and students alike.

The run was a great success, we were accompanied by various teachers from school; Miss Raymer, Mrs Fell, Miss Gilfillan, Miss Jackson, Mrs Wise, Miss Charlton, Mrs Wakefield, Mrs Hogan, Mrs Schofield and of course Mrs Mackenzie.

This great evening involved many different outfits, consisting mostly of pink; feathery scarves, tutus, bunny ears and amazing long socks. It was a wonderful event and one which we would like to make an annual event for Ripon Grammar.

Best wishes go to Mrs Mackenzie and her family and anyone else who has had cancer affect their lives. With events like this we may soon find a cure.
