Boarding students crack the code

Boarding's roving reporters DECLAN and LEON report on a trip to Yorkshire's own Winter Wonderland, among the activities featured in our Boarding Life photo gallery this month, which also includes an indoor bowling challenge and an exhilarating escape room adventure

BOTH School House and Johnson House termly boarders enjoyed a trip to the York Designer Outlet's Winter Wonderland, with ice skating a  and shopping, followed by  a meal at Pizza Express.

We set off by coach to York and arrived safely, ready for our day out, before being  split into small friendship groups and going off to explore the shops.

We had great fun exploring the different stores in the Yorkshire Designer outlet, which offered the perfect opportunity to buy our secret Santa presents.

We then met up at the ice rink, where we got kitted out with our skates and began to get used to them before venturing on to the ice to test the new environment. Some of us wish we had the support penguins to aid us - but everybody embraced the new skill and gave it a go. After a bit of trial and error, we began to glide on the ice, gracefully, or maybe not so gracefully!

There were only a few falls and crashes but nothing serious, and no injuries, thankfully. Not too much to be embarrassed about!

Then it was on to Pizza Express to round off the day. Everyone left with full tummies and stories to tell.
