A level results 2023

RGS students achieved 82.7% A*-B grades at A-level in 2023, with 56.3% A*-A, and 18.8% (98 grades) at A*.

The GCSE pass rate (9-4) was 95.3% with more than 90% of grades at 9-5 (the equivalent of A*-B) and 57.7% of grades at 9-7 (A*-A).

Named the top-performing state school in the North in The Sunday Times Parent Power guide for eight years running, Ripon Grammar School is in the top two per cent of state schools for pupil progress from leaving primary school to the end of fifth form, known as Progress 8 scores. RGS's score is 0.98, well above the national average. At A-level, RGS is in the top 5% of schools nationally for progress in sixth form.
