OUR inaugural Bollywood Night at RGS was more than an event — it was a celebration of diversity, creativity, and togetherness.
RGS witnessed an unforgettable evening as Bollywood glam and music lit up the campus for a spectacular cultural celebration.
The sold-out event, which raised £1,355 for school funds, was a resounding success, bringing together vibrant traditions, dazzling performances, and a sense of community spirit.
More than 100 guests were welcomed in true Indian style with flavourful bites, masala tea, and refreshing welcome drinks, generously sponsored by Genix Healthcare dental group.
The entrance foyer radiated with colour and energy, setting the tone for an immersive experience. Adding to the excitement, Genix engaged visitors with a fun tooth mascot appearance and a lucky draw featuring exciting prizes.
As part of the pre-event activities, a group of talented RGS mothers volunteered to create beautiful henna designs for guests, with proceeds going to charity.
Door gifts of bindis and bangles added a touch of authentic glamour, while a vibrant photo corner with sarees, Indian outfits, and props allowed everyone to capture memories in style.
The cultural programme began on a soulful note with a classical dance performance by Sahana, accompanied by a Sanskrit sloka expressing gratitude to teachers/gurus.
In a heartfelt moment, Mr. Webb was felicitated with a garland, symbolising respect and appreciation. The stage then came alive with a series of cultural performances by RGS students, culminating in a high-energy Bollywood dance showcase by guest performers.
Guests indulged in a lavish buffet of authentic Indian cuisine by chef Arvind from Plus One Catering, savouring flavours that transported them straight to the heart of India.
Later, Sarita McDermott opened the dance floor with a Bollywood dance workshop, inviting everyone to groove to the beats.
The night ended on a high note with music curated by DJ Meadz, Oscar, a talented 12-year-old budding DJ who kept the crowd dancing until the very end.
A big thank you to our sponsors, businesses which donated amazing raffle prizes, parent volunteers of FRGS, performers and guests for making this evening truly magical!
