Boarding life: photo gallery

With the Winter Olympics underway, boarding students enjoyed some fun-fuelled sledging at Yorkshire's own Xscape snow slope. From receiving awards to exploring our national arms and armour collection, scroll down to see what else our students have been up to this month

A YEAR 7 BOARDER REPORTS: Indoor sledging at Xscape in Castleford was really fun because it felt fast, exciting and hilarious all at the same time. Zooming down the slope with the other boarders, even without proper snow, gave the same rush as normal sledging but without being as cold. The smooth indoor run meant you could go again and again, and there was a lot of laughing when people raced each other to the bottom. Everyone enjoyed it and it was the perfect way to burn off some energy.

But it wasn’t just sledging we also had fun in some other activities like rock climbing, trampolining, and laser tag, and this is to name just a few - some people had a very competitive game of adventure golf!

After a long time sledging it was inevitable that we would be hungry and we had a magnificent meal at a restaurant called Smoky Boys. We had chicken and beef burgers, halloumi wraps, garlic prawns, chicken wings - I could go on. Every bite was lovely. The perfect way to end this amazing trip.

I think this was the perfect trip to end an exceptional half term.

Boarding students enjoyed their visit to the Royal Armouries in Leeds, which houses the national arms and armour collection - thousands of fascinating objects from the past and present tp explore!

Boarding students always enjoy getting together in the kitchen to make ice cream sundaes - whatever day of the week!

Our junior boarders love a quick game of basketball before bedtime - luckily, the court is right on their doorstep!

Boarding students enjoyed two very special awards ceremonies, marking the end of an action-packed half term with so many achievements to celebrate
