SCHOOL TRIPS: Castle capers

Our Year 7 students spent a beautiful day visiting Richmond Castle, getting up close to a stone built motte and bailey dating from the Norman Conquest, the first topic they studied this year. Students also enjoyed a little taste of medieval life, sitting on a throne and dispensing justice in the Great Keep, before enjoying a sunny picnic lunch, then back on the coach to head to the later courtyard castle at Middleham, once home to the famous (or infamous?) Richard III
