THIS year’s Charity Week fundraising is particularly meaningful for two Ripon Grammar School pupils.
Sisters Izzy and Rosie Forsythe are among the many students whose families have been affected by Parkinson’s disease.
They will be raising money in memory of their great grandad, the Rev Frank Curtis, who suffered from the progressive brain disorder.
Izzy, 14, said: “Parkinson’s UK is a very important charity for our family as our great-grandad was affected by the disease.”
Rosie, 11, added: “Thanks to everyone for raising money for this amazing charity this week.”
Rev Curtis, who was Provost of Sheffield Cathedral, died before Izzy and Rosie was born. Their mother, Becky, said: “He was a wonderful man and we miss him very much. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts.”
