TRIBUTE: 'A great supporter who made a difference to RGS'

We are sad to report the death of Dr Peter Mason, who joined the Ripon Grammar School governing body in 2008 and served as chair from 2011 until 2018, when he was a driving force behind a number of major developments

Dr Mason was a former headmaster of Reading School and principal of the Stamford Endowed Schools. RGS headmaster Jonathan Webb said: "It is with great sadness I pass on the news of the death of Dr Peter Mason after a short illness. Peter was chair of governors when I joined RGS in 2017 and was a highly respected educationalist. He stood down in 2018 but remained very much a supporter of the school."
