A*mazing A-level results for RGS students
HIGH achieving Ripon. Grammar School students are celebrating a stellar set of A-level results with eight students scoring an exceptional four A*s or more.
More than 70% of all grades achieved at RGS were at A*-B and more than 40% at A*/A with the vast majority of students securing their first-choice degree courses.
Top performer Nekha Abraham, 18, from Ripon, achieved a clean sweep of four A* grades plus a fifth A* grade in her extended project qualification (EPQ).
Overall, the school saw its 164 students receive a total of 105 A* grades, winning places on a diverse range of highly competitive university courses, ranging from aerospace engineering and architecture to cosmetic science, law, medicine, music, physics, philosophy and sports psychology.
They will be studying in all corners of the country and all over the world, with nine students setting off for Oxford and Cambridge and the majority securing places at prestigious Russell Group universities.
Among the other top performers are18-year-old students Monty Bleiker, Anson Fong and Clement Pang, all from Ripon, Will Keens, from Easingwold, and Nancy Manners, from near Thirsk, who all gained four A*s.
In addition, Annabel Cochrane, 18, from Darlington, and Evy Reed, 18, from Ripon, achieved three A*s plus an A* grade in their EPQs. Five further students achieved three A*s and above.

“These results are a wonderful reward for that commitment and the determination, resilience and hard work they have shown throughout their time at Ripon Grammar School.
“It is particularly pleasing to see students achieving the very highest grades alongside the many different individual successes across the year group.
“We wish them every success as they take their next steps, whether at university or into the world of work.”
