Another busy and memorable month in boarding

IT has been another fantastic month for our boarders, packed with exciting activities, memorable experiences, and opportunities to spend quality time together.

Although amidst the busy schedule, we always make time to appreciate the great outdoors. Spending time in green spaces, enjoying nature, and taking a moment to relax remains an important part of boarding life and helps everyone recharge between activities and studies.

Boarders enjoyed a visit to Ripon Rugby Club, where they joined in the fun while waiting for former England rugby star Lewis Moody to arrive as part of his charity cycle tour around the UK. The event was raising money for My Name’5 Doddie, a cause close to the hearts of many, and it was inspiring to be part of such a special occasion.

One of the highlights of the month was when we travelled to the Great Knaresborough Bed Race. The atmosphere was fantastic, with brilliant costumes, enthusiastic crowds, and, of course, delicious ice creams enjoyed throughout the day. It was a wonderful community event and a memorable experience for everyone involved.

A particularly special evening saw us gather for a pizza party to celebrate our upper sixth form leavers. They have been a truly wonderful cohort who have contributed so much to boarding life, and we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved. With only a few exams remaining, we wish them every success as they prepare for their next exciting chapter.

Before our memorable trip to the North Yorkshire Water Park, we kicked things off with an afternoon of puzzles and brain teasers, giving everyone the chance to put their problem-solving skills to the test. There was plenty of teamwork, laughter, and healthy competition before the excitement continued with a refreshing trip to the lake.

This proved to be the perfect way to cool off and enjoy some fun in the sunshine. Whether splashing in the water or simply enjoying time with friends, everyone had a wonderful afternoon.

We enjoyed a calmer pace one Sunday morning as boarders enjoyed meeting Daffodil, a beautiful therapy dog who brought smiles and plenty of gentle companionship. Later in the day, the group headed to Harrogate for some shopping before stopping at Ripley for an ice cream on the journey home - a perfect way to round off another busy and enjoyable weekend.

As always, boarding life continues to offer a balance of adventure, friendship, relaxation, and community spirit. We look forward to many more exciting experiences in the weeks ahead.
