YEAR 7 students threw themselves into our annual Chocolate Box Challenge, a much-loved end-of-year enterprise that continues to inspire creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking.

This year also marked a special milestone, as it was the 20th year that Mr Walker has organised the popular event.

Working in teams, students were tasked with designing an innovative chocolate box based on the theme of ‘Yorkshire’. As well as creating a unique range of chocolates and eye-catching packaging, each team had to calculate production costs and develop a marketing strategy to promote their brand.

The challenge encouraged students to think creatively, solve problems, work to a strict deadline and, above all, enjoy the experience.

This year’s judges, former RGS librarian Mrs Debbie Peach and RGS student Trinabh Srinivasan, were hugely impressed by the imagination, originality and professionalism shown by all the teams.

Congratulations to this year’s winning team: Will March-Shawcross, Jacob Bancroft, Cameron Murphy, Joshua Wilson, Jonathan Darling and  Blake Wilson.

The team delivered an outstanding presentation, with Will March-Shawcross captivating the judges with his memorable marketing pitch. His confident and entertaining performance had everyone convinced he has a future on the stage!

Reflecting on the day, Noah McCarthy said: “I found the Chocolate Box Challenge really fun, and I loved working as a team. I hope we do something like this again.”

A huge thank you to Mr Walker for organising another fantastic Chocolate Box Challenge and to our judges for giving their time to celebrate the creativity and enterprise of our Year 7 students.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in making this year’s event such a success.
