RGS student Sujan Gowda is celebrating a strong set of GCSE results as he looks ahead to studying biology, chemistry and maths at A-level and pursuing his ambition of becoming a dentist.
Sujan achieved a number of grade 9s and hopes eventually to study dentistry at a leading UK university such as Newcastle or King’s College London.
Alongside his studies, he has shown an impressive commitment to helping others. Since Year 7, he has taught swimming to children aged four to 11 and is completing his final Institute of Swimming teaching exam. He has also spent three years tutoring children aged six to 16 in maths and English.
Sujan has balanced these commitments with around eight hours of badminton each week, as well as basketball, while also supporting his younger sister with her studies and activities.
His achievements include a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, a 20-hour volunteering award and an Institute of Swimming Teaching Level 1 qualification.
Reflecting on his results, Sujan said he was incredibly proud of what he had achieved.
He added: “I am motivated to continue achieving more, both academically and personally, as I work towards my ambition of studying dentistry.”
