STUDENTS from RGS have earned national acclaim after playing a key role in a national TV broadcast from Ripon Cathedral.
The pupils, who serve as choristers and choral scholars in the cathedral choir, delivered what has been described by the BBC1 Easter Day Service programme's producer as 'a triumph in broadcasting'.
The live service, which is available on BBC iPlayer, showcased the choir's musical excellence to a nationwide audience, marking a significant moment for both the cathedral and the school.
The high-profile broadcast follows a string of recent successes for the choir. Just weeks earlier, their performance featured on BBC Radio 3'd Choral Evensong, further cementing their reputation for outstanding liturgical music.
In addition, the choir has celebrated the release of its latest CD, adding to a growing catalogue of recordings.
RGS head of music Michael Barker praised the students' dedication and professionalism, noting the commitment required to balance academic studies with the demands of cathedral music.
"This was a phenomenal success and achievement. What a memory and experience for our music students in the choir, which sounded superb. Well done to all involved."
With momentum building from these recent milestones, the future looks bright for these young musicians, whose voices are now reaching audiences way beyond North Yorkshire.
Well done also to Francesca Kirkman, 14, who read a lesson during the service.
