STUDENTS and staff are celebrating Ripon Grammar School being named top boarding school in the north of England in prestigious education awards.

Praised for its ambition and pursuit of excellence, RGS was selected from key organisations in the education sector as a winner in the inaugural LUXlife Private Education Awards, 2022.

Awards coordinator Harwinder Pawar said the LUXlife judging panel had spent many weeks researching and deliberating over the shortlist of institutions dedicated to shaping future leaders and industry pacesetters.

Ripon Grammar School was awarded Most Outstanding Boarding School in the North of England.

“Education is the cornerstone of success and growth. The best schools and teachers can be drivers of lifelong ambition, setting firm foundations that define all aspects of later life,” she said.

“Teachers become role models, their words and actions inspiring young minds towards excellence.”

*LUXlife Magazine was founded in 2015 by the international corporate news and information publishing company, AI Global Media, and has a global circulation of 238,000.

RGS’s LUXlife listing: The Sunday Times ‘Top state school’ for nine years running, Ripon Grammar School, at the heart of the charming cathedral city of Ripon in the Yorkshire Dales, offers top quality boarding for boys and girls aged 11-18 in a self-contained campus set in 23 green and leafy acres. Because it is a state school, RGS’s exceptional education (rated outstanding by Ofsted) comes free so students pay for accommodation only. Consequently, boarding costs only around a third of typical independent school fees.
