Singer Theo is on track for a career in music

A TALENTED singer is on track for a career in music after gaining the key GCSE grades he needs for his next step.

Former Ripon Cathedral choral scholar Theo Kendrick, who is working towards his Grade 8 singing qualification, achieved a top grade 9 in his music GCSE.

The 16-year-old, from Ripon, also picked up one grade 8, five 7s, two 6s and a 5, and will go on to study music, business and religious studies at A-level.

Planning to pursue a career in audio technology, he has juggled his school studies with working for the school tech team and also as a sound engineer for a local acoustics business in addition to singing in the school’s senior choirs and teaching swimming at Ripon City Swimming Club.

“I am very happy with the results I have achieved and I’m looking forward to coming back to RGS in September and getting stuck into school life again,” he says.
