Dear parents and carers,
As a school, we are committed to ensuring students are prepared for the challenges of adult life and leave our care ready to enjoy healthy, happy lives and rewarding careers.
Students in year groups 7 to 11 learn about Relationships and Sex Education as part of a comprehensive Personal, Social, Citizenship, Careers and Economic education. A curriculum map showing which topics we cover can be found here: https://www.ripongrammar.co.uk/academic/departments/pshce/
The lessons will be delivered in PSHCEe lessons by your child's PSHCEe teacher, not by external speakers, although there are some aspects of RSE which fall within Science lessons also and will therefore be delivered by your child's Science teacher.
May I take this opportunity to remind you that the school's policies on PSHCEE and RSE including parental rights to withdraw from some aspects can be found at https://www.ripongrammar.co.uk/about/school-policies .
You are welcome to contact me to discuss any aspect of the provision on firstname.lastname@example.org
Pupils in years 12 and 13 follow a separate Personal Development programme, led by Mrs Lyons, deputy head of Sixth Form.
Helen Mars (Mrs.), Head of PSHCEe
