Ripon Grammar School is a selective, co-educational grammar school with boarding and an outstanding reputation as one of the leading schools in the North of England. Year 7 (first form) admissions are managed by North Yorkshire County Council’s School Admissions Team since the Local Authority are the admitting authority. Sixth Form admissions are managed directly by the school.
Students wishing to join the school are required to sit entrance tests, managed by North Yorkshire County Council's School Admissions' Team.
Children both in catchment and out of catchment will sit the entrance tests at Ripon Grammar School on two successive Saturdays in September when they are in year 6 at their primary school. The children will sit two tests (verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning) on each Saturday.
The Country Life Future Schools Fair takes place a the Pavilions of Harrogate on Saturday, 1 October.This includes a number of useful sessions for parents who are considering secondary school for their child's education.
