Charity Week 2026 – Year 7 Cake Stalls

Dear Parents/Guardians

The week of 19 – 23 October will be our annual Charity Week, in which a wide range of activities are organised by the pupils to raise funds for a selected charity chosen each year by our Sixth Form. The cause this year is Yorkshire Cancer Research, an organisation that is close to many of us and selected by the school officers.

To participate, each year group is set the challenge of raising as much money as possible to contribute to the total sum raised by the school. It has also been the practice in recent years for Year 7 students to contribute to Charity Week by bringing buns, cakes and biscuits into school for sale at morning break-time, and we are planning to do the same this year.

The rota for this is:

  • 1A -Tuesday 20 October
  • 1B - Wednesday 19 October
  • 1C - Thursday 20 October
  • 1D – Friday 21 October

It is hoped that students will bring in as many buns, biscuits etc. as possible for sale by members of their form on their designated day. Containers and boxes should be named so that they can be returned, and cakes etc. can be brought to the Pastoral Centre first thing in the morning for safekeeping.

PLEASE BE AWARE – we have a number of students in school who have a severe reaction to nuts and therefore no nuts or nut-based products should be used in the baked goods. The Year 7s have traditionally thrown themselves into this event with huge enthusiasm andfrequently raise a large proportion of the school’s total sum for charity through their efforts.

Thank you in advance for your support, and I hope your son or daughter enjoys Charity Week.

Yours sincerely

Mr J Harding

Head of Year 7
