Mrs Pang's marathon effort for charity

RGS maths teacher Mrs Pang is making a marathon effort to raise money for a good cause.

She will be putting on her running shoes on Sunday, May 7, to take on the Hardmoors Wainstones trail marathon, which includes 5,600 feet of hills, lots of mud and navigation over moorland.

“It’s what could be described as challenging terrain,” she says of the 28.5 mile course.

“Training has not gone to plan, due to a variety of reasons, but my weekend runs are getting longer and hillier, and running sections of the course has commenced, to try and get the route stored in my memory.

“I am looking forward to a peaceful day out in the moors, and trying not to think about the 8 hours walking up and running down hills that will be involved.

Mrs Pang will be raising money for The Jordan Legacy, a Harrogate-based charity whose mission is to be at the forefront of the advancement of health, specifically the advancement of mental health and prevention of lives being lost to suicide.

She chose the charity to support a friend who sadly lost her brother-in-law to suicide in 2021.
