OUR Year 10 students enjoyed an exciting geography field trip to southern Italy, packed with opportunities to explore, learn and experience some of the country’s most famous locations.
Based in the beautiful coastal town of Sorrento, students visited the ancient city of Pompeii, where they walked through remarkably preserved streets and buildings, gaining a fascinating insight into life in Roman times. The group also climbed Mount Vesuvius, taking in spectacular views while learning about one of the world’s most famous volcanoes.
The trip included a visit to the stunning island of Capri and time exploring the vibrant city of Naples, where students examined examples of street art and graffiti as part of their geographical investigations. Alongside the educational visits, students enjoyed a range of cultural experiences, including making authentic Italian gelato and preparing healthy snacks together.
Evenings were filled with sports, beach activities and time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Bay of Naples, helping to create lasting memories and strengthen friendships.
The packed itinerary ensured that every day brought new experiences, and by the journey home, many students were ready for a well-earned rest after an unforgettable week of learning, discovery and adventure.
Thank you to all staff and students who contributed to the success of the trip. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring classroom learning to life and create memories that will last for years to come.
