RGS netball stars selected for Leeds Rhinos England pathway

TWO Ripon Grammar School students are celebrating an outstanding achievement after being selected for the Leeds Rhinos Netball England pathway.

Molly, 16, in Year 11, has been selected for theU17 Netball Performance League (NPL), while Betsy, 14, in Year 10, has secured a place in the U17 Player Development Programme (PDP).

Both selections are particularly impressive given their ages, with Molly and Betsy competing in an older age group.

The girls have worked hard to reach this level. Molly has played for Leeds Athletic for the past four years, representing the club at the  n national championships twice, with another appearance planned for next year.

Betsy has played for Grangetown for three years and has also gained valuable experience competing at club nationals.

Both girls began their netball journeys at Ripon Rockets Netball Club, where they developed the skills, foundations and passion for the game which has helped them progress to the next level. They also represented their county before earning their places in the Leeds Rhinos pathway.

Molly will be entering her third year in the Rhinos programme, while Betsy is embarking on her first. Both are committed to developing their game, training four times a week through their respective clubs and two weekly sessions with Leeds Rhinos.

Betsy's mother Georige, who plays, coaches and umpires the sport, said: "We are incredibly proud of what Molly and Betsy have achieved so far. Their journey is a fantastic example of what can be accomplished through hard work, dedication and a love of the game."
