The main fund raising event for 2023

Friends of RGS are excited to announce the sequel to the Renaissance Ball for the community of RGS, to include parents, staff, governors, friends of school and Old Riponians. The 1555 Ball will be held at the Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate on Saturday 18 th November. 

Our aim is to raise funds towards the development of IT to support academia, for the benefit of each and every student at RGS. 

The evening will commence with pre-dinner drinks at 7pm, and we will be seated for dinner at 7.45pm, with carriages expected by 1am. The 3-course meal, will provide a vegetarian option and dietary requirements can be catered for by the hotel in the set menu chosen. The meal will finish with freshly brewed tea/coffee and after dinner mints. Entertainment will consist of a live band and DJ during the evening. Alongside this, games of Heads & Tails, a raffle, auction and gift tree will present lots of fund-raising opportunities for the school, with wonderful prizes to be won. 

Tickets are priced at £70 a head and the dress code is black tie or lounge suits. The ball presents an exciting opportunity for parents to enjoy socialising with other parents, staff and the wider community affiliated to RGS. We have 250 tickets available and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. 

The forms below can be used to reserve tables of 10 or 12, however if you only need to purchase a smaller number tickets, you can do so by contacting FRGS or using either form.

If you have a smaller group or just wish to attend as a couple, we can organise a table for you and will try and keep year group parents together if at all possible. 

Friends of RGS would love to hear from you if you are able to assist in any way or donate a raffle, gift tree or auction prize. Equally any sponsorship or charitable donation would be gratefully received.
